Dancing Algorithms (Sorting Algorithm Practice)
If you’re looking for a good way to visualize algorithms that you may have been working on recently, need a refresher, or are just looking for something quite entertaining…. then please checkout the link below:
This might be the greatest thing ever in computer science and the comments are hilarious, too. This YouTube user created a sort algorithm dance playlist where they take different sorting algorithms and show them how they work with traditional music such as Romanian, Hungarian, Gypsy, etc.
You can check out bubble sort, selection sort, etc. to help with exercises and writing your own algorithms for exercises you might be working on.
The music is great and it really helps you out with how sorting algorithms work.
The quick sort one is possibly my favorite. Especially if you adjust the speed of the video to 2x speed. At 2x speed, these dances becoming very entertaining to watch and really help out with learning, too.
This can be a really fun exercise to do when you’re trying to figure out how to write and implement your own sorting algorithms and to visualize things and show you how they work.
As always, I highly recommend the Zero to Mastery Academy to improve your own personal skills as a programmer as this is where all this information was drawn from and Andrei Neagoie, the founder and lead instructor, has been a true mentor to me.
